Cocktails: Bloody Mary

Probably the world's most famous savoury cocktail, and definitely the world's most famous hangover cure, you can read more about The Bloody Mary and its unexpected link to British royalty here

The key to a Bloody mary is to try a few different types and see what you like - maybe it's a spicy one with loads of tobasco, or you love your umami flavours so add some brine, or you could go rogue and change up the tomato juice for carrot juice. You can even change the spirit, swapping the vodka for gin makes it a Red Snapper; adding tequila makes it a Bloody Maria and adding rum means it's a Bloody Pirate. The Bloody Mary world is your oyster. No literally, add an oyster, it's delicious. See this recipe as your starter recipe and tweak as you go.
